Radford East

City Central is a suburban, multicultural area with strong family links, encompassing Berridge, Radford & Park, Hyson Green & Arboretum and Wollaton East & Lenton Abbey wards. There is a significant student population due to the proximity of both Universities The City Central Neighbourhood teams are led by Inspector Liz Gaskin, with three teams comprising of a Sgt, PCs and PCSOs under his command.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across the district.

Please find contact details for your Neighbourhood Team provided below. Please note that to report a crime or incident to Nottinghamshire you can visit nottinghamshire.police.uk or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Did you know you can help influence local policing in your community in a number of ways. Nottinghamshire is a pilot area for Immediate Justice where; the scheme provides an opportunity for those who commit low level antisocial behaviour to compensate the community by undertaking supervised reparation activities which help to improve the environment e.g., litter picking, graffiti removal. You can report what areas you would like to see such activities here:-

Immediate Justice (immediatejusticenotts.co.uk)

We run Op Visibility every Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening across all our districts in Nottinghamshire patrolling Hotspots for anti social behaviour as identified by members of the public. You can complete our Op Visibility survey on the link below which if you tell you have witnessed a form or ASB in the past month will generate a request for you to identify where this was on a map so we can consider adding it to our patrol plans.

Please select one of the below options to start the survey. (nottsalerts.co.uk)

Local Priority Issues

Serious Violence – Serious violence remains a key priority, We want to ensure that people feel safe within the community. Extra patrols have continued through home office funding in the areas that suffer violence and anti-social behaviour as we continue to focus on preventing violent crime particularly against women and girls and knife crime.
Anti-Social Behaviour – in all forms. ASB continues to be a priority, we are working hard to combat this with extra patrols and visibility., Evening student patrols will also be continuing in the next few weeks to target areas where we have previously seen a rise in student related crime.
Burglary and Robbery offences – Burglaries continue to be an issue. We will be spending time offering crime prevention advice to those that need it and patrolling areas that we have seen a rise in burglary offences. As the dark nights start it is important, we continue to patrol the right areas to prevent our community being victims of burglary and robbery. We have again made some key arrests during the last few months for both burglary and robbery. The University Team are working hard to ensure the students get the advice they need to prevent them being victims of burglary or Robbery.
