Forest Rec. Ground & Arboretum

City Central is a suburban, multicultural area with strong family links, encompassing Berridge, Radford & Park, Hyson Green & Arboretum and Wollaton East & Lenton Abbey wards. There is a significant student population due to the proximity of both Universities The City Central Neighbourhood teams are led by Inspector Liz Gaskin, with three teams comprising of a Sgt, PCs and PCSOs under his command.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across the district.

Please find contact details for your Neighbourhood Team provided below. Please note that to report a crime or incident to Nottinghamshire you can visit nottinghamshire.police.uk or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Did you know you can help influence local policing in your community in a number of ways. Nottinghamshire is a pilot area for Immediate Justice where; the scheme provides an opportunity for those who commit low level antisocial behaviour to compensate the community by undertaking supervised reparation activities which help to improve the environment e.g., litter picking, graffiti removal. You can report what areas you would like to see such activities here:-

Immediate Justice (immediatejusticenotts.co.uk)

We run Op Visibility every Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening across all our districts in Nottinghamshire patrolling Hotspots for anti social behaviour as identified by members of the public. You can complete our Op Visibility survey on the link below which if you tell you have witnessed a form or ASB in the past month will generate a request for you to identify where this was on a map so we can consider adding it to our patrol plans.

Please select one of the below options to start the survey. (nottsalerts.co.uk)

Local Priority Issues

City Central Priorities: January 2025 to March 2025

ASB (All forms of ASB, including begging, street drinking and drug dealing)

Local problem-solving work continues to target persistent aggressive beggars who are causing anti-social behaviour within the area, with planned days of action coming up, we will target those who are causing problems within our community.

Extra patrols around the areas where the majority of our student population live continue to ensure that we are responding any anti-social behaviour issues.

We will continue to execute drugs warrants at addresses where drug dealing is taking place.

Serious Violence (Knife crime, violence against the person and violence against women and girls (VAWAG)

Further patrols will continue over these winter months in areas that have been identified as hot spots, to ensure our communities feel safe.  Further CCTV cameras are to be installed in areas of concern.

Extra patrols have been conducted around the areas where our students live, to provide visibility and reassurance at night time.
We continue to target our most violent offenders including those that are involved in knife crime.

Serious Acquisitive Crime - Residential Burglaries and Personal Robberies

Burglaries continue to be an issue as the darker nights continue.  We have been offering crime prevention and personal safety advice to the students within the universities and have also increased our patrols in areas where burglaries and robberies are occurring.

There have been numerous key arrests who have been dealt with robustly by our dedicated Burglary and Robbery teams.

What members in Forest Rec. Ground & Arboretum are saying are the issues in the area:
