Strelley
The City West is a lively and vibrant suburban area within the City of Nottingham comprising of the Aspley, Basford, Bilborough, Leen Valley and Wollaton West wards. The area is residential and has excellent transport links with a population of approximately 100,000.The City West Neighbourhood teams are led by Inspector Gordon Fenwick, with three teams of PCs and PCSOs under his command. These three teams are split into Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley teams, each supervised by a Sgt.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across the district.
Please find contact details for your Neighbourhood Team provided below. Please note that to report a crime or incident to Nottinghamshire you can visit nottinghamshire.police.uk or in an emergency, please dial 999.
Did you know you can help influence local policing in your community in a number of ways. Nottinghamshire is a pilot area for Immediate Justice where; the scheme provides an opportunity for those who commit low level antisocial behaviour to compensate the community by undertaking supervised reparation activities which help to improve the environment e.g., litter picking, graffiti removal. You can report what areas you would like to see such activities here:-
Immediate Justice (immediatejusticenotts.co.uk)
We run Op Visibility every Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening across all our districts in Nottinghamshire patrolling Hotspots for anti social behaviour as identified by members of the public. You can complete our Op Visibility survey on the link below which if you tell you have witnessed a form or ASB in the past month will generate a request for you to identify where this was on a map so we can consider adding it to our patrol plans.
Please select one of the below options to start the survey. (nottsalerts.co.uk)

Local Priority Issues
ASB - October 2024 to December 2024
It has been decided that the Policing priority for Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley Wards will be Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). This is in preparation for darker evenings, the clocks changing and Halloween and Bonfire Night. The Police will provide additional patrols around Parks and open spaces as well as Streets and public buildings and engage with youth signposting to local youth provision. We will be having monthly meetings with our partners to ensure that we are patrolling the places experiencing the most ASB. We are also working with local schools and clubs to address any concerns which provides a multi-layered problem-solving approach. We encourage any member of the public to report ASB to us on 101.
November Update
Across the three areas during the month of October we have received 64 incidents that are ASB related. This breaks down to 22 on the Aspley Ward, 30 on Bilborough and 12 on Leen Valley. Research and analysis shows that the vast majority are related to neighbours, either noise complaints, parking issues or other boundary issues. An ASB hot spot has been identified on the Aspley ward and in particular Strelley Court. The local NPT have initiated a problem management plan in relation to ASB at this location.
A lot of these issues the Police are not the best agency to resolve, and we do find we refer a lot on to the City Council community protection team who have the powers to deal with noise and parking problems. Patrols will be stepped up over the next month as we enter the darker evenings/nights and Halloween/Bonfire night activities.
