Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing update
The team have been dealing with high levels of demand across the borough in the last few weeks as well as engaging in their regular work of community engagement and problem solving.
Neighbourhood Policing officers made a visit with officers from Public Protection and Border Force immigration enforcement teams to a commercial premises in the Nottinghamshire part of the Vale of Belvoir on Wednesday 1st of April following reports and concerns about the welfare of people residing there and exploitation taking place. Investigations by Border Force and Nottinghamshire Police Public protection are on-going.
Patrols and Investigations in rural areas around theft of vehicles and machinery and poaching have been on-going mainly later in the day and after dark due to further reports in Rushcliffe and neighbouring areas. The killing of fish and game has a negative effect on rural businesses and the environment, it disrupts management plans. Deer poaching can interrupt the deer management plan for an area as well as forcing deer on to roads and neighbouring farmland where they can cause collisions or damage.
If you encounter trespass and suspicious behaviour please report it, trespass and poaching are well known as precursor offences to theft of farm equipment and burglary of buildings.
With reports of illegal off road motorcycles again in the East Leake and Cotgrave areas arrangements are being made for the Forces Off Road Bike Team to visit again, these unregistered motorcycles are being ridden on bridleways, country parks and pavements causing a danger to legitimate users of the areas, causing damage to surfaces and disruption to rural businesses.
Officers have taken further action in Bingham around nuisance caused by a dog owner, this particular case is subject to on-going court proceedings. Police in Rushcliffe have also had reports of dogs dangerously out of control in other areas of the Borough so a reminder to ensure your premises are secure and if you are in a public place any dog must be under control at all times especially around people, other pets and farm animals.
