Firearms Licensing are urging certificate holders to check their licence expiry dates, and to ensure they submit their renewal applications no later than 8 weeks before it is due to expire. Any applications received after this time will result in the certificate holder having to lodge their guns with a Registered Firearms Dealer or a nominated Firearms License holder. Two automatic reminder letters will be sent 16 weeks before the expiry date and again 12 weeks before, this will be the last reminder sent. It is the certificate holder's responsibility to submit their renewal application in sufficient time to avoid having to lodge their guns and to pay possible storage fees.
