Keep your trailer safe!

Officers PC Poppy Macky and PC Lydia Day attended the Norton District Riding Club Show at Newark Showground on Sunday 8th June and gave out vinyls advising Police to pull over trailers seen on the road at night, we think we may have recruited our youngest Horse watch member yet! Harriet below is just 3 years old pictured with her pony Peg and their newly fitted sticker.

A recent trailer theft in the Newark area was taken during the early hours of the morning, these stickers advise Police that a horse trailer moving on the road at this time of night is to be seen as suspicious and to pull over the vehicle. Thanks to the quick reporting, subsequent Social Media appeal and the actions of a scrupulous buyer, the trailer concerned has now been located over 200 miles away!

Ensure you have an image of your horsebox or trailer, it is parked somewhere secure ideally away from road view with a record of the frame/chassis number

If you would like a member of our Horsewatch team to attend your local event with these stickers and general crime prevention advice please email horsewatch@notts.police.uk
