Hello from the Broxtowe Borough Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector.

Closure of Jan – March Priorities

Eastwood South ASB – Op Platter

Police and Broxtowe Borough council served a Closure Order at an address on Eastwood South, which was involved in drug dealing and ASB.  The premises has been boarded up and the occupants can no longer stay at the address.

Police have completed a couple of warrants at two separate addresses on Eastwood South, where drugs were seized.  These investigations are ongoing.

NPT and Broxtowe Borough Council have spoken with a car park landowner, to agree the locking of a car park overnight.  This was to deter people from gathering and causing ASB in the area.  This has since, led to a reduction of ASB.

Op Platter will not continue as a priority for the next quarter as ASB has reduced continuously over the last three months.

Supporting Licensed Premises

Police and licensing have worked together to make changes to the conditions of licenses.  This is to ensure suitably trained and licensed door supervisors are on duty at key times of the weekend.

Test Purchasing operations were conducted in March with NPT, Police Cadets, and Licensing at the Off Licences across the Broxtowe NPA.  There were no breaches.  This is great news, as it shows the engagement that NPT and Licensing have completed has had a positive effect.

From speaking with Licensed premises there has been an improvement in the decline of ASB and violence offences on the area over the last couple of months.  Due to these results, this will no longer remain a priority in the next quarter.

New Quarterly Priorities

The new priorities that have been agreed between Police, Stakeholders and Partners for April to June are:

  • Drug offences
  • Shop Theft
  • Road related offences
  •

    Hotspot patrols

Fatal Four Operations – NPT has completed speeding operations which have included Community Speed Watch across the Broxtowe Borough.

    Operation Wheelspin

Operation Wheelspin has been conducted in March and will continue to run on weekends as this is the key time of ASB and road related offences taking place around Toton Park and Ride and the A52.  Please report road related matters linked to the police control room via 101.

    Thank you
