Neighbourhood Police Officers along with colleagues from Community Protection undertook a day of action in the Flower Park on Wednesday, with the Police and Crime Commissioners Office funding the initiative via ‘Safer Streets’. The purpose of the day was to raise awareness about making communities safer by focusing on crime, community safety, and environmental improvements. The event united local authorities, community partners, and residents in a collective effort to create a safer and cleaner community. 

Safer Streets funding has allowed for additional CCTV cameras to be placed around the area, as well as in installation of 4 new ANPR cameras. Funding has also been provided to make the Flower Park more welcoming by cutting back overgrown trees and planting flowers. 

Work is ongoing to improve services for young people as part of the project.
