As part of our Policing Pledge to earn the trust and confidence of our communities and one of the pillars of neighbourhood policing engaging communities, officers have visited a number of community events in recent days. One of our PCSOs visited the memory café in east Leake and a beat manager visited the U3A meeting in Cotgrave on Tuesday morning to speak to those in attendance about their communities and any issues or concerns they have. On Monday evening a Neighbourhood Policing Sgt and a beat manager attended the Colston Bassett Parish Council meeting to deliver an update of recent events in the area and speak to residents about concerns in the village. The neighbourhood policing team will continue to attend local events and meetings where resources allow. With 57 parish and town councils in Rushcliffe and numerous neighbourhood watch, speed watch and other community groups we won’t be able to attend all the meetings but will endeavour to get to annual general meetings and if there are other important or large meetings in the area.
The Policing teams covering Rushcliffe are still working with force and regional units to try to combat the increase in burglary mentioned in the Inspectors blog post. With an area of 158 square miles though we are reliant on the public to report burglaries, attempt burglaries and suspicious incidents so resources can be directed to the correct area to try to apprehend suspects and gather evidence. | ||||
