Drugs Dog Operation - Mansfield

Officers from Mansfield Neighbourhood Policing and Response Teams undertook an Operation Guardian in Mansfield Town Centre on Saturday 8th February 2025.

Operation Guardian is a drugs dog operation whereby uniform and plain clothes officers patrol Mansfield Town Centre with a Nottinghamshire Police passive dog (PD Oakley on Saturday, pictured below), trained to operate in the Night Time Economy and detect drugs. Officers will then stop and search persons where search grounds permit.

Officers engaged with numerous members of the public and also dealt with four persons in possession of drugs.

Drug Use and Dealing is one of our Local Policing Priorities for Mansfield (based on feedback from members of the public on their areas of concern) and we will continue to undertake Operation Guardian operations as well as a wide range of other tactics to target offenders.
