Hello Gedling! Hope you had a good January and are looking forward to moving into Spring – fingers crossed the freezing temperatures are behind us!
I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know about a couple of new additions to your local teams – Sgt Bhavuk Sharma has joined the Central team and PC Lisa McNeil has started on the South team – they are both experienced officers and will bring a wealth of knowledge to the teams that they are on.
Local updates:
Youth related ASB – The reported incidents of ASB in the Gedling borough remain relatively low. Youth workers are still engaged with a number of people in the area, and have reported positive interactions and a change in attitude from some of them, which is a huge step forward. The NPT team are hoping to arrange some community events in the near future which will be aimed towards the younger residents and will hopefully assist in steering them away from ASB as they build relationships with the Police.
Vehicle related ASB – After a large car meet in the New Year the local NPT and Gedling Borough Council have worked together to identify some of the vehicles and are now moving forward in contacting the registered owners. The regular patrols and enforcement continues and I would ask residents to continue to report incidents as they occur.
Begging – The NPT have been doing lots of patrols in the town centre to identify those who are begging in the area – they are being offered help and support as well as being warned of their behaviour and the consequences.
In addition, the Gedling North team have been busy this month executing drugs warrants – investigations are ongoing but this positive action is only possible as a result of information from you, our local community, so thank you for continuing to support this by reporting the issues you face.
In the last few weeks there has been a slight increase in burglaries – please could you ensure that you remain vigilant in your neighbourhood and report any suspicious activity to the Police to allow officers to attend and address any concerns. If you would like to report an incident to the Police, please report to 101 in a non-emergency, or 999 if a crime is taking place.
Finally, if you would like to receive relevant messages from your Neighbourhood Policing Team then please go to https://www.nottsalerts.co.uk/ and sign up today – this is a system that will make you aware of local issues and hotspots, as well as community events happening in your local area. | ||||
