Two men have been arrested after a commercial burglary in Southwell.

We were called to Boots, in King Street, at 2.18am this morning (Wednesday) and arrived at the scene a short time later.

A car was later tracked to an address in the Newark area and two men, aged 36 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Inspector Charlotte Ellam, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a fast-paced investigation that led officers to suspects at a property more than half an hour away from the scene of the crime.

“Several pieces of evidence have been recovered and our investigation is ongoing.”
