Following reports of a several theft from motor vehicle offences in the Sherwood and Portland wards, Neighbourhood Policing Officers have stop searched a female in the Town Centre on Sunday 15th December 2024. 

She was found in possession of stolen banks cards from two vehicles and, following further enquiries, charged with one offence of attempt theft from motor vehicle, two thefts from motor vehicles and one offence of fraud by false representation. She will appear in court on 15th January 2025. 

We would like to take this opportunity to please report such offences when they occur (without the offences being reported, officers may not have been able to as quickly link the bank cards to victims / addresses and therefore charge for the offences on the day) and also remind members of the public to please lock your vehicles and remove all valuable items.
