Officers from Nottinghamshire Police Off Road Bike Team attended Mansfield on Sunday 16th December 2024 to conduct patrols in the area. 

Patrols included Southwell Road, Mansfield along Old Newark Road before entering Harlow Wood and continued into Thieves Wood where 3 road legal Off Road bikes were stopped, all insured and correctly registered, all three issued Section 59 warning notices and advised accordingly. 

Section 59 Notices are a powerful tool issued to those driving in an anti-social manner and are issued to both the driver/rider and the vehicle. Further vehicle related anti-social behaviour within the next 12 months will result in the seizure of the vehicle. 

Officers then came across an adult male with two children who had just offloaded two children’s motorcycles from a pick up truck with a view to using in the area. The male was advised accordingly and made to load the bikes back on his truck and leave the area.

Finally the Desert area was patrolled and officers encountered a group of persons on off road bikes who abandoned a bike and made off from officers leaving the bike behind.
