RURAL POLICING - NEVER A DULL MOMENT
Tree-mendous work by local officers and members of the public with Storm Darragh causing havoc across the area bringing trees down blocking roads and causing a danger to road users.
The biggest one being 30ft which had completely blocked a pitch-black road at West Leake, due to the council not being able to respond for hours officers attended and cleared most of the branches but had to call upon a local resident to help with the Main trunk which was to large to move, Mr Johnson attended with his chainsaw and help remove the rest of the blockage making the road safe for people to use again.
Although this is not in the normal line of police work it was deemed necessary to avoid anyone being seriously hurt by colliding with the tree. |
