Theft of Vehicle

Theft of a car in Costock Avenue

Dear Resident

We are appealing for information after a car was stolen in Costock Avenue (Off Hucknall Road) in Sherwood.

The theft occurred around 5am this morning (6th December).

The vehicle is a beige convertable BMW which would have front end damage after the theft, so is quite distinctive

Did you witness anything? Did you see anyone or any vehicle(s) in the area that looked suspicious? If so, then please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident reference 0054_06122024.

Alternatively you can report online  Home | Nottinghamshire Police

If you have CCTV or DashCam footage, please let us know.

You can also pass on information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle

Vehicle:

  • Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road.  Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible
  • Physically check your central locking system has activated to ensure the signal hasn’t been blocked and the car left unlocked
  • Store keys for keyless entry cars in a RFID pouch or foil lined tin to block signal from scanners that will remotely unlock your car e.g Defender Signal Blocker
  • Further security tips and advice can be found on the Crime prevention advice | Nottinghamshire Police  and on the Neighbourhood Watch website.
