Nottinghamshire police are looking to set up Community Speed Watch (CSW) in your area and asking you to get in touch if you are interested in volunteering and being trained to conduct speed checks on streets in your area. 

The scheme aims to raise awareness of speeding within communities and the affects it has on the people who live there by providing education to drivers. 

Community Speed Watch will not be considered as enforcement but will be supported and governed by Nottinghamshire Police. 

Police will train volunteers to operate a speed gun and note down the details of speeding motorists. We will follow up by sending letters to the registered keepers of offending vehicles asking for their assistance in keeping speeds down in the local community. Repeat offenders could face targeted speed enforcement action by Nottinghamshire Police.
